Francine Michaels' Bio
Francine grew up listening to Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, Bobby Osborne, Molly O’day, Wilma Lee Cooper, patsy cline, and Rose Maddock. Francine always knew she wanted to be a singer, but raising two children put her singing career on hold. In 1988 her dream of a musical career came to life when she and her husband Ed started hosting the mountain top bluegrass festival on their land in Tarentum, pa. Within five years the mountain top bluegrass band was formed and Francine had a new “child” to raise. It was during the early days of the mountain top bluegrass festival that she first performed with the well known bluegrass legends Josh Graves and Kenny Baker. It was Josh and Kenny that urged Francine to cut her first cd titled ” Keeper Of The Door”. It went over so well it was less than a year later Francine cut her second cd with Josh and Kenny called “Time Can Mend”. The album featured a song she wrote by the same name. Francine, Josh Graves and Kenny Baker perform together whenever their schedules permit. Francine received a certificate of recognition from King Eagle Awards in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999 and 2000 and an award from T.C.M.A. in Pennsylvania in 2001, for her outstanding contribution to the music industry. Her repertoire encompasses traditional country bluegrass and gospel. From the moment you hear her voice; you know you’re hearing Bluegrass Country the way it should be sung. Some of Francine’s past performances were in California, Ohio, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, Missouri and many cities in Pennsylvania. When Francine sings, her remarkable voice comes out as pure, 100% mountain soul. If you’re looking for hard core bluegrass, this is the real thing. Some D.J. Quotes:
