Mountain Top Band Bio

Moutain Top Bluegrass Festival is the home of the Mountain Top Band. Band members include Francine Michaels, Jay Meadors , Terry Hall and Mark Reid. The band plays a variety of venues and is available to play in your area. Please contact Francine Michaels for further information.

 

Tom Weyand, from Massillon, Ohio is well known for 30 years of gospel music. He was a member of Northern Blend, Lem Curry & Common Ground, and also played for Wilma Lee Cooper, Josh Graves and Kenny Baker. Tom has been with the Mountain Top Band for 3 years. He plays bass guitar in the band. Tom is a native of Pennsylvania.

 

 

Jay Meadors, from Leavisburg, Ohio, is well known for his years with The Meadors Family Gospel Band and “The Bear Mountain Boys”. Jay, a native of Kentucky, has been with the Mountain Top Band for three years singing lead and playing banjo and guitar.

 

Mandolin player Francine Michaels from Tarentum, Pennsylvania is the heart of the band singing outstanding lead and harmony vocals. Born into a musically inclined family of 14 siblings, Francine sang gospel with 3 other sisters and taught herself to play the mandolin. Francine formed The Mountain Top Band in 1994. She has studied mandolin technique under Nashville mandolin player Butch Baldassari.

Francine plays with Josh Graves and Kenny Baker when ever possible, and has produced 2 CDs with Josh and Kenny. She has performed in, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, and is well known in her home state of Pennsylvania

Francine and husband, Ed are hosts of the annual Mountain Top Bluegrass Festival held every year on the first full weekend in July.

 

Mark Reid, a native of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, thrills the audience with his warm and soulful lead vocals and awesome rhythm guitar. He has been with The Mountain Top Band for 5 years.
